Montalvo Landscape

Montalvo designs, builds and maintains private gardens for residences from Key Biscayne to Fort Lauderdale. Salt-tolerant planting, engineered drainage and crews that return every week: landscapes built to survive August and still look intentional in March.

About us

Our projects

Explore our gardens

Gardens planned for a climate that punishes shortcuts: 60 inches of rain a year, salt spray, Category 4 winds. Walk through the projects and see how they look five years after planting.

One firm, from grade to canopy

Narrow side-yard garden between white stucco walls: limestone stepping pads through black river pebbles, ferns and a sculptural silver buttonwood

Every property starts with a survey: soil pH, water table, wind exposure, the flood zone on the county map. Designers, arborists and install crews work from that data as one team, under one contract and one point of contact.

Two generations in South Florida soil

Rafael Montalvo started in 1991 with one truck and a nursery in Homestead. His daughter Elena, a licensed landscape architect, now leads design. 1,400 gardens later, most of our trees still come from our own 40-acre field in the Redland.
